“And who gave you the right to decide that?” Mr. Whitmore’s eyebrows rose. He looked at me briefly with a tender expression before looking back at Ethan.
“May I remind you that this house belongs to me. I let you live here because you wanted to build a family, and you wanted to do it together,” he continued. “But if you treat Claire as if she is disposable, then you can consider yourself out. Effective immediately.”

Mr. Whitmore did not even blink. “What I am saying is that Claire stays, and you leave. And not only that, from now on, I am cutting you off financially. All my money and support are gone.
